Principles
DAWIDA believes that inclusion and adequate harnessing of the human resources and strategic potential of the African diaspora women in Denmark and other EU member states can promote and advance effective, responsible, transparent, accountable and democratic systems of governance in Denmark & in Europe as well as in Sub-Saharan Africa. Hence, a notable step forward in sustainable development.
Mission
Our mission is to ensure that the voices of African women and girls are included in the judiciary and the civil services, as well as in the private sector and civil society. By so doing, women and girls can fully participate equally with men in the public dialogue, decision-making and influence the decisions that will determine the future of their families, communities and countries they live in or/and their respective countries of origin.
Vision
DAWIDA envisions a world where African women and girls are fully empowered to participate in the economic, political and social development and to influence decisions that affect their lives. We envision a world where African women and men, girls and boys have equal rights and opportunities and equal access to resources, education, healthcare, employment, leadership and decision-making.
Objectives
· To develop a platform on which African Diaspora women's and youth’s organizations in Denmark and other countries can exchange and share ideas and experiences. In addition, a platform for building on and monitoring alliances between the sustainable- development efforts of African women’s and youths’ organizations in Diaspora and those of women and youth in Sub-Saharan Africa.
· To advocate for the inclusion of African Diaspora women and youth in key development policy.
· To facilitate well informed, educated, skilled and socially, economically, politically empowered African women and youths in order to enhance their inclusion and participation at all levels of governance.
· To strengthen, well informed and better resourced African women's organizations and grassroots to promote the full participation women and girls in all decisions- making and all spheres of the society.
· To facilitate a mentor-network that offers marginalized migrant women and youth a support system in their integration into the Danish society and labour market. Hereunder, education for migrant youths.
